for what it is worth
Every day I find myself throwing out dozens of trackback pings. Dozens of them.
This on top of comment spam, and tens of thousands (you read right) of spam emails a day.
I'm pretty damn sick of it.
Yes, its only a minor inconvenience, in the scheme of things.
But really and truly. Why do I bother?
What do you $%^&s think you achieving? Google juice? Think again. Not a damn drop.
In the mean time, the people who made the web the valuable resource you parasites attempt to suck dry are day by day diminished by your behavior.
All societies have their parasites, but in most of them, you can't hide the way you think you can in the online world.
Just needed to get that off my chest.
Spam, software pirates, trackback and comment spam.
Like I said, I'm pretty sick of it all.

Shit man, I thought you were talking to me for a moment.
I'm sick of spam. I only get a few hundred emails a day to delete, which don't take me too long.
I've got some blogs too, and that's where I could spew. Comment spam is driving me nuts on one blog. It's mostly from poker, viagra/cialis and casino sites. They are only after 2 things, Page Rank for Google and backlinks. There is the occasional newbie who hopes I'll click their link so they can "sell" me something, but they are the minority.
I think comment spam in blogs is largely done by very experienced f*ckwits. Strangely my most spammed blog is only a PR3, while a PR5 I have gets almost none.
I've got two PR4 blogs that get almost no traffic at all... less than 50 visitors daily, and so they don't get spanmmed at all... so far.

You can use comments filter addon, if that is avaialbe for your blog software. Filter can affect in several ways, per example asking secure code, preview mode etc.
