Interview about Web Directions in Desktop Magazine

During Web Directions South, Managing Editor of SitePoint, and long time Web Directions supporter Matt Magain interviews me about the conference, its goals, and so on, for Desktop Magazine. If you don't have access to the magazine (issue 234!) then you can read it online now, thanks to Matt and SitePoint.

I think it gives some insights into why we do Web Directions, and why we continue to get even more excited about the conference as time goes on.

Web Directions North - early bird ends friday

Quick note on Web Directions North.

Early bird pricing of just $799 ($749 if you came to our first one) closes on Friday at midnight. We've got just about our full lineup, with detailed sessions descriptions up at the site too, and if I do say so myself, it's pretty sensational.

Plus I hear it's been a-snowin' at Whistler.

So, check out Web Directions North, and hopefully we'll see you in Vancouver in late January!

Election Day

remember, vote early, and vote often!

I for one welcome our new leadership overlords.

Then it's time to keep the bastards honest.

iPod touch dead - seriously unhappy!

Picked up my touch last night from where I put it down the night before, working fine.

Dead as a doornail :-(

Sadly, the nearest Apple Service Centre is an hour away, and I'll not likely be going near for a week or so.

Not a happy camper.

Bad week for Apple kit round our parts. My 17" powerbook which Sara inherited about a year ago had an unscheduled meeting with the floor. At least the HD and contents are salvageable.

Looking forward to better times in the hardware department

I love elephants

Just back from a wonderful two weeks internet free.

Read lots of books, swam and lazed about a lot, saw elephants, spent lots of wonderful time with family.

Must never forget to take holidays every now and then.

elephants, lots of elephants
